"Nutcracker Man," originally called "Zinjanthropus," is now known as Australopithecus boisei, although some (not me) put it in genus Paranthropus. This was one of Mary Leakey's great finds (her greatest probably being the footprints at Laetoli) and we are still learning more about it even today:
